How can we make make heating systems less energy intensive and more eco-friendly? The compost heating project is designing a system to heat to a campus greenhouse and extend it’s growing season by harnessing the exothermicity of compost.

Is plastic waste actually recycled? Most of it never leaves the landfill. This project aims to repurpose discarded plastic water bottles into filament used for 3D printers. Our goal is to reduce the amount of discarded plastic generated by the UofA, and create a more sustainable campus.
